Registrations are now open for the 2021 football season and for the sixth successive season, Football Brisbane’s player registration component has remained unchanged.
Football Queensland and Football Australia registration components also remained unchanged for 2021.
Football Brisbane Chairman, Jeremy Medina said, “One of the pillars of our Strategic Plan is ‘Football for Everyone’ which means the current Football Brisbane Board has a major focus of keeping football as affordable as it can be. Having very responsible financial management of the organisation allows this to occur by keeping our overheads as low as possible and looking for efficiencies in our day-to-day work. We continue to assess and develop other opportunities to drive revenue into the game outside of registration and clubs fees. This revenue will be used to either offset the organisation’s expenses or provide more services to our clubs.”
Medina further explained that this extends out to assistance that Football Brisbane can provide to clubs with their running costs, “Our clubs have told us two major pain points, in terms of everyday running costs which are water and electricity costs, which we all know are constantly rising. We have therefore started discussions with the five local council areas that form part of our zone and have ongoing discussions with Football Queensland for the state and national governments, to work with each of them on addressing these issues that will provide benefits to the community more broadly.”
