Football Brisbane has made the decision to disband the Women’s Capital League 2 competition for the 2020 season.
Unfortunately, due to the limited number of teams confirmed, the competition is unable to proceed as originally planned following further clubs rescinding their expressions of interest late last week (Friday 7 February).
It was thus determined that in the best interests of competition integrity, viability and club/player development, that the Women’s Capital League 2 be discontinued.
At the conclusion of the 2020 season, Football Brisbane will again call for nominations for the Women’s Capital League 2 competition and will consult with the Football Brisbane Women’s Working Group and the 8 clubs who initially had wished to participate in 2020, to gauge the competition’s potential establishment in 2021.
Those teams that had expressed interest in playing in the Women’s Capital League 2 competition will now be nominated into the Veto Women’s City League divisions.
