Football Brisbane is proud to announce it’s 2020 charity partner, Make-A-Wish Australia.
Make-A-Wish was selected by you our members as our preferred charity to partner with in 2020.
Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. They’ve made unicorns fly, sent kids to the moon and together with their #WishForce, they’re on a mission to grant a wish for every eligible child.
Supporting the Brisbane and other South-East Queensland volunteer branches of Make-A-Wish, Football Brisbane will be fundraising through 2020 to help grant wishes to local children who are battling life threatening conditions.
Since its inception in 1985, Make-A-Wish has grated more than 10,000 wishes.
Sally Bateman, Chief Executive Officer of Make-A-Wish Australia, said that wishes complement a child’s medical treatment, with the power to calm, distract and inspire at the time they need it most.
“Our vision is to grant the wish of every eligible child. As a trusted children’s charity with a local presence in the community, we rely on our generous donors, volunteers and partners to make it happen,” she said.
“All funds received will go toward granting more wishes – anything from purchasing a cubby, to a puppy who’ll offer companionship or paying for flights & accommodation for a wish child who has wished to take their family on holiday,” Sally said.
Football Brisbane will be actively seeking donations throughout the year particularly at scheduled events.
Further details about how to donate directly to the Football Brisbane Make-A-Wish fund will be published shortly.
