Football Brisbane is pleased to announce the arrival of Gemma Smallfield to the organisation who has been appointed to the role of Commercial Manager.
Many will be familiar with Gemma from her goal keeping exploits with Annerley FC and currently The Lakes FC in the Mt Franklin Brisbane Women’s Premier League.
Gemma comes to the organisation with an extensive background in marketing and will be responsible for corporate operations including managing assets, enhancing the facilities strategy and growing the portfolio of corporate partners. She will also be overseeing Football Brisbane’s communication platforms and activities to engage with clubs and individuals playing within the zone.
Asked what it was that made Gemma look to the role she replied, “Football has been my passion since I started playing in Under 11s and it has given me opportunities to travel, create friendships, keep fit and learn about people and team dynamics.
She added, “I’ve been involved in the Football Brisbane community for the past 6 years as a player, coach, mentor, committee member and volunteer so when the opportunity arose to combine my professional skills with my passion – it was an easy decision.”
Gemma plans to enhance engagement with the Brisbane football community. “I’m aiming for the highest possible standard of execution for every Football Brisbane activity to underpin our relationship with clubs, players, coaches, referees and the wider football community. I’m 100% committed to the business of football to enable our sport to shine on and off the field.” She said.
