Our footballing community is full of dedicated, hard working volunteers and during National Volunteer Week (18 – 24th May) we’re shining a light on them.
Every single club within the Football Brisbane zone has volunteers who work tirelessly maintaining fields, operating uniform shops, cooking in canteens, coaching players and managing teams. Volunteers are the key to community football and we couldn’t do it without them!
We celebrate one volunteer each month, however this week, we have recognised 7 special volunteers who were nominated by their clubs – Katie Clark (Ridge Hills United), Hannah Smart & Olivia Ibanez-Vasquez (Park Ridge FC), Matthew Lewis (Logan Village FC), Josh Gobold (North Star FC), Mandee Mure (Lions FC), Janet Alexander (Pine Rivers Athletic FC) & Belinda Fisher (Centenary Stormers).
General Manger, Rafe Griffin recorded a special message “thank you on behalf of the Football Brisbane team, for your efforts, not only through this difficult period, but for the years gone past as well.”
“During these trying times, it’s more important than ever that we have volunteers to support clubs and their wider community.”
All of the volunteers recognised this past week have been posted on our social media platforms.
