Earlier this week, Toowong Football Club was recognised as the first club in Queensland to receive their accreditation rating within the National Club Development Program (NCDP).
President of Toowong FC, Will Vandenberg, is proud to have received a 4-star rating and lead the way for other clubs to follow in their footsteps. “We are very supportive of the program’s aim to raise the overall standard of club administration and operations at all levels of the game – this is critical to the ongoing health of community football. This is also great recognition of all the hard work put into the club, mostly unseen, over many years by committee members and other volunteers” he said.
Rafe Griffin, General Manager of Football Brisbane presented Will with their accreditation certificate and added “Football Brisbane fully supports Football Federation Australia’s National Club Development Program which will provide a baseline of where our clubs stand operationally and we can identify the gaps to then assist clubs with strategies and support to improve how they run.”
“Toowong has always been one of our more proactive clubs particularly in connecting with their local community and their approach to female football. It’s fantastic to see them become the first club in Queensland accredited under the program and achieving a high 4-star level. We look forward to working with the club in the future to get them to five-star status as well as seeing other Football Brisbane clubs become accredited under the program.”
Football Federation Australia launched the National Club Development program in late 2019 to assist administrators at grassroots football clubs.
“We recognise that community-based football clubs play a key role in the development of football in Australia. To raise the overall standard of club administration and operations at all levels of the game, Football Federation Australia has established the NCDP providing a clear model to develop and maintain a successful football club.” stated Jeremy Toivonen, Member Services Manager at FFA.
“Football Queensland and in particular Football Brisbane, have been instrumental in engaging its member Clubs with the NCDP and should be congratulated.”
“I applaud the Toowong Football Club, especially during these tough times, for their commitment to the developed of their Club for the ultimate benefit of their members.”
